A prayer for my country

Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high;
Where knowledge is free;
Where the world has not been broken up
into fragments by narrow domestic walls;
Where words come out from the depth of truth;
Where tireless striving stretches its arms towards perfection;
Where the clear stream of reason
has not lost its way into the dreary desert sand of dead habit;
Where the mind is led forward by thee into ever-widening thought and action---
Into that heaven of freedom, my Father, let my country awake.

Indeed, 'where the head is held high and mind is without fear'... but that can only happen if the society, and before society the individuals, are willing to change. It is time that people took the reins in their own hands to steer the destiny of the nation without falling prey to anarchy. Enough is enough. Destiny of nations, our dreams and aspirations are far more important to be left in the hands of politicians. Let the collective consciousness of masses rise above the din of petty, self serving, myopic few sitting in state assemblies and parliament.
